When is the best time of year
to visit Las Vegas?
As locals, the one thing we love most about Las Vegas is the weather. Surprised? If so, you must be one of those people who think Vegas is scorching hot all year long, however you couldn't be further from the truth. Even though it does reach near freezing in the winter and to temperatures exceeding 100 in summer, the old adage "It's a dry heat!" is certainly true. With 300 days of sunshine, vacationers to Las Vegas will find a comfortable climate all year around. Just about the only decision you'll have to make is whether you want to party at the pools or not. Take a look at these numbers - hard to beat!

What is the official gay area in Las Vegas and are there any hotels there?
There are many gay bars and clubs scattered around the Las Vegas valley but the gayest of areas in Las Vegas has been lovingly referred to for many years as the Paradise Fruit Loop. It is located very near to the strip on Paradise Road, just north of the airport. Here you will find the 8 1/2 Ultra Lounge, Piranha, and Gypsy complex. With Piranha and 8 1/2 adjacent to one another and Gypsy just a stone's throw away there is something for everyone at this nightlife trifecta. Just across the street is the locally loved, leather & levi's bar, The Buffalo. A popular spot for pre-party, after-party, or just a fun night of drinks, darts, and billiards. Last, and certainly not least, is Freezone. A loungey bar with everything from karaoke on Mondays to dance-party-city on the weekends. Oh, did I mention Freezone's mega lesbian following?
As the Paradise Fruit Loop grows, so does the amount of gay friendly hotels in the area. The newest in the neighborhood being the sexy and ultra-chic Rumor boutique hotel, just walking distance from the heart of the Loop. Candlewood Suites Las Vegas is only a quick cab ride away. For something on the Strip, Planet Hollywood, MGM Grand, New York, New York, and The Excalibur are all less than two miles from Vegas' gay haven.
What is the best way to get around the strip?
Walking would be the number one choice to easily maneuver your way around. The strip isn't too long and I wouldn't recommend renting a car if you plan on staying in the strip area. Your other options would be the Las Vegas Monorail, taxi cab, or the DEUCE.
Las Vegas Monorail:
Single Ride Ticket $5.00
One-Day Pass $12.00
Three-Day Pass $28.00
The Monorail runs from the Sahara to the MGM Grand.
Cab prices in Las Vegas are:
Initial activation of taximeter $3.30
Each additional 1/12th mile ($2.40 per mile) $.20
Waiting time per hour $30.00
McCarran Airport fee per pick-up $1.80
The Deuce
The Deuce is a city bus that travels from the Downtown - Fremont Street area to the south end on the Strip and back again. There are stops along the way near most of the major casinos, and at the Town Square Mall and Las Vegas Discount Mall. It is relatively cheap, with a 24-hour pass costing $7 or 3-day pas costing $15; pay on the bus (exact change only, please). Are there any 18 + gay clubs and can you book a hotel room at age 18.
Every Friday at Krave Night Club is 18 and over. Visit www.kravelasvegas.com for more details! You can also check out the once a month Vicious party at the Hard Rock Cafe on the strip! Vicious is an 18+ gay club that is put on by So Crush. Visit http://socrush.com/events for more details. Yes you can book a room! However if you are looking to book a hotel on the strip, most of those hotels are 21+. You can look into the Las Vegas Hilton; from my research you should be able to book a room!
